Hier ein kleiner Reisebericht unserer Italien-Tour 2014:
Am 14.03.2014 haben wir unseren ersten Auftritt in Pordenone absolviert. Der Veranstalter hatte zum ersten Mal in dieser Stadt ein vergleichbares Event durchgeführt und wir durften auch als einzige Band an diesem Abend spielen.
Alle beteiligten Personen haben sich sehr viel Mühe gegeben, das Event angemessen zu gestalten und sich gut um uns gekümmert. Der Auftritt selber war schon sehr schön, aber im Nachhinein nur die Vorbereitung auf das, was uns noch erwarten sollte!
Den Tag darauf konnten wir uns noch etwas die Stadt Pordenone selber anschauen, bis wir dann nach Bologna abgeholt wurden. Dort angekommen waren wir sofort extrem beeindruckt. Die Halle, in der wir spielen sollten, hatte die Größe eines Flugzeug-Hangers und hat geschätzt locker 5-6 Tausend Menschen aufgenommen. Dort haben wir relativ spät gespielt (ca. 2:00 morgens), allerdings war die Halle trotzdem bis zum Rand gefüllt und der Feierlaune der Anwesenden waren auch keine Ermüdungserscheinungen anzumerken. Menschen in dieser Menge zu sehen, die zu unserer Musik sangen, tanzten und feierten, war ein absolutes Erlebnis! Ein sensationelles Konzert!
Am nächsten Tag ging es nach Padua. Und was uns da erwartete, sollte alles vorherige in den Schatten stellen! Der Veranstaltungsort alleine hat uns mit seiner puren Größe absolut umgehauen. Es ähnelte dem Oktoberfest, nur mit Irischem Thema. Es gab verschiedene Hallen, einen Außenbereich mit Verkaufsständen, Gastronomie und Fuhrgeschäften. Tausende von Menschen waren überall verteilt. Absolut Atemberaubend! Und das spiegelte sich auch in unserem genialen Backstagebereich, der Mega-Bühne mit riesigen Video-Screens und der professionellen Betreuung wieder. Der Auftritt selber war der Hammer!!! Die Halle selber, in der wir spielten fasste ca. 2-3 Tausend Menschen, aber unsere Performance wurde über riesige Video-Screens auf dem ganzen Gelände, als auch auf die „Irlanda in Festa“-Webseite gestreamt! Schätzungsweise 15.000 Menschen konnten so in Padua unserer Musik lauschen und dazu feiern. Was für ein Event! Ein absolutes Highlight in der Geschichte der CSC!!!
Nach diesem beispiellosen Abend, haben wir am nächsten Tag die bezaubernde Altstadt von Padua erkundet. Und ich glaube, wir haben uns auch ein bischen in diese traditionsreiche Stadt mit Ihren wunderschönen Gassen, beeindruckenden Kathedralen und herzlichen Menschen verliebt. Nach einem sehr schönen Tag in Padua sind wir zurück nach Bologna gereist, um dort unser Abschlusskonzert zu absolvieren. Nach einer, mittlerweile, sehr routinierten Performance, haben wir mehr als zufrieden noch einen schönen Abend dort verbracht und diesen mit gutem italienischem Essen, sowie Wein und Guinness ausklingen lassen. Ein gelungener Abschluss!
Diese Tour hat einen tiefen, bleibenden Eindruck bei uns, und ich denke auch im positiven Sinn beim Veranstalter, hinterlassen. Danach war für uns alle klar: Wir wünschen uns so etwas, irgendwann nochmal erleben zu dürfen.

On the 14.03.2014 we played our first gig in Pordenone . For the organizers it was the first time that the event “Irlanda in Festa” took place in Pordenone and we were the only band playing on this first evening.
All the event staff involved gave a lot of effort to make the event a success and took good care of us. The show itself was really nice, but in retrospect, only the preparation for what was to await us!
The next day we spent some time to look at the little town of Pordenone until we were picked up to be taken to Bologna.
Once there, we were immediately extremely impressed. The hall in which we were due to play had the size of an aircraft hanger and easily fitted 5-6 thousand people. There we played relatively late (about 2:00 am.), The hall was still filled to the brim and the crowd were in a celebrating mood and showed no signs of stopping. They showed no signs of being tired at all. To see people in the crowd singing to our music, dancing and celebrating was an absolute experience! A sensational concert!
The next day we went to Padua and what awaited us there put everything previous in the shade! The venue itself blew us away with its sheer size. It was similar to the German Oktoberfest, only with an Irish theme. There were various halls, an outdoor area with stalls, catering and a small Fairground. There were thousands of visitors spread all over the place. Absolutely Breathtaking! That was also reflected in our brilliant backstage area, the Mega stage with giant video screens and the very professional care and help from the event team. The gig itself was fantastic! The hall we played held around 2-3 thousand people, and at the same time our performance was streamed on huge video screens spread over the whole event area. An estimated 15,000 people were in Padua listening and enjoying our music (according to the Organizers)
To top it all our Gig was live streamed on the „Irlanda in Festa“ internet page! What an event! An absolute highlight in the history of CSC!
After this unprecedented evening, we spent the next day exploring the charming old town of Padua. I think we all fell in love in this city full of tradition, impressive cathedrals, friendly people and its beautiful alleyways, streets and buildings in the old part of town. After a nice, relaxing day in Padua we traveled back to Bologna where we were due to play the final concert of our Italy tour.
After performing our last concert which, due to the routine from the last 3 days was nice and laid back, we were more than satisfied with the tour and then spent a lovely evening with good Italian food, wine and Guinness . A successful conclusion to our Italy tour!
This tour has left a deep and lasting impression on us and I think the Festival organizers were more than happy.
At the end of the day, one thing was clear: We want to experience more Festivals like this.
